  • Megan is a lawyer turned content creator with years of experience in social media, working with brands and creating content for an online audience. She’s the planner of the duo, usually behind the ideas, itineraries and probably an unnecessarily detailed spreadsheet.

    She loves travel, wildlife, finding new places and turning pretty much everything they do into something worth sharing.

  • The filmmaker of the duo. Michael comes from a background in television, commercial filmmaking and production, and has pretty much always had a camera somewhere nearby. He’s happiest behind the camera, somewhere outdoors, or figuring out how to get a shot that probably requires far more equipment than Megan expected.

  • Together, we created The Geeringh’s as a home for everything we love doing. We produce film and photography for brands, destinations and experiences, while sharing our own travels, wildlife encounters, recommendations and adventures along the way.

    Sometimes we’re behind the camera, sometimes we’re in front of it, and most of the time we’re planning where to go next.

The Geeringhs started with two people who were already creating in two very different corners of the industry.

Michael comes from the world of film and television, while Megan spent years building a career in content creation, social media and working directly with brands. Somewhere between the cameras, campaigns and a shared obsession with travelling, we realised our two worlds worked pretty well together.

So, we created The Geeringh’s!

Today, we produce film and photography for brands, hotels, destinations, properties and experiences. We take on everything from commercial campaigns and social-first video to photography, destination productions and the occasional project that gives us an excuse to pack the camera bags and get on a plane.

But The Geeringhs was never meant to be just a production company.

It’s also a home for everything we love outside of client work: travelling, wildlife, finding places worth talking about, sharing our recommendations and documenting whatever we get up to along the way. Sometimes that means filming a campaign for a brand, sometimes it means sitting in Kruger waiting far too long for an animal to do something interesting.

Whatever we’re shooting, the idea is pretty simple: make really good work, see as much of the world as we can, and have a good time doing it!

Our Process

It starts with our enquiry form. Tell us as much as you can about your brand, project, ideas, dates and what you’re looking for. We’ll take a look, make sure we’re a good fit and send over our Media Kit, Rate Card or a custom quote depending on the project.

Once we’re on the same page, we’ll have a discovery session to get into the details. We’ll establish what you need, where the content will be used, deliverables, creative direction, dates and timelines.

Now we get everything ready to shoot. We’ll plan concepts, shot lists, locations, schedules and logistics, as well as talent, additional crew and travel where necessary. How much we handle depends on what your production needs.

Pre-production

The fun part. We bring everything together and shoot your project, capturing the film and photography we’ve planned while leaving room for those unplanned moments that sometimes end up being the best ones.

We take everything into post-production for editing, colour and finishing before delivering your final high-resolution content, ready for wherever it needs to go.

  • We’re a film and photography production duo creating content for brands, hotels, destinations, properties and experiences. From commercial campaigns and social-first content to photography and destination productions, we can take a project from the initial idea right through to the final delivery.

    Alongside our client work, we also create and share our own travel, wildlife and lifestyle content through The Geeringhs.

  • A little bit of both, and that’s kind of the point.

    Michael comes from a film and television production background, while Megan comes from content creation, social media and working directly with brands online. The Geeringhs brings those two worlds together.

    You can hire us purely to produce content for your brand, work with us as creators, or build a project that combines the two.

  • We’re based in Cape Town, South Africa, but our work definitely isn’t limited to Cape Town.

    We work across South Africa and internationally, with travel planned into the production where necessary.

  • Yes. Our projects can include the full post-production process, from selecting footage and images through to editing, colour and final delivery.

    Exactly what is included will be outlined in your quote before the project begins.

  • Yes, but usage depends on the project.

    Content can be licensed for things like your organic social media, website, digital marketing, paid advertising and other commercial uses. The intended usage will be discussed before the project so that everything is clearly outlined in your quote and agreement.

  • We do consider selected hosted stays, experiences and collaborations that genuinely align with The Geeringhs and the content we create.

    Hosted or contra arrangements don’t automatically include commercial production or guaranteed deliverables. If you require specific film, photography or content deliverables for your business, we can put together a production package or custom quote.

  • There isn’t one set price because no two productions are exactly the same.

    Pricing depends on things like the type and amount of content required, shoot length, location, travel, crew, equipment, post-production and how the final content will be used.

    Fill in our enquiry form with as much information as possible and we’ll send through our Rate Card or create a custom quote for your project.

  • The earlier the better, particularly for destination productions or projects involving travel, talent or multiple locations.

    That said, our availability changes throughout the year, so if you have something coming up soon, it’s always worth getting in touch.

  • Absolutely. Some of our favourite projects give us an excuse to pack the camera bags.

    For productions outside Cape Town, any necessary travel, accommodation and logistics will be discussed during the planning stage and included in your custom quote where applicable.

  • We’ll read through everything you’ve sent us, look at what your project needs and make sure we’re a good fit.

    From there, we’ll get back to you with the relevant Media Kit, Rate Card or a custom quote and, if everything looks good, move into discovery and planning.

  • Quite a lot. We create film and photography for brand campaigns, hotels and lodges, destinations, properties, products, restaurants, experiences, events and more.

    Deliverables can include short-form social content, commercial video, brand films, photography, website imagery, campaign assets and other custom content depending on what your project actually needs.

  • The two of us are at the core of The Geeringhs, which allows us to keep many productions small, flexible and efficient.

    For larger productions, we bring in additional crew, talent, equipment and other specialists depending on what the project requires.

  • Yes. We can be involved from the very beginning, including creative direction, concepts, shot lists, locations, schedules, talent, crew and travel logistics, through to production, editing and final delivery.

    Or, if you already have everything planned and simply need us to shoot it, we can do that too.

  • Turnaround times depend on the size and complexity of the project and will be confirmed before production begins.

    If your content is tied to a launch, campaign or specific deadline, let us know in your enquiry so we can plan the production timeline around it.

  • Yes. If your production requires models, actors, creators or other talent, we can help source the right people for the project.

    Megan and Michael can also appear in selected productions where it makes sense for the concept.

  • Yes. We own and work with professional film, photography, lighting, stabilisation and production equipment.

    If a production requires something beyond our existing kit, additional equipment can be sourced as part of the production.
